The Biological Boundary
The skin is the boundary of the self. Below it, everything is internal, private, protected, unavailable to the outside world without the body's permission or violation. Injection Play works directly with this boundary: the needle is the instrument through which what is outside passes inside, across a threshold that is usually completely closed.
The practice is conducted with the precision that this level of intimacy requires: sterilisation, the right gauge, the right site, the right technique for the type of injection.
Every element is carefully prepared. The preparation ceremony, the cleaning of the skin, the selection of the site, the needle test, is itself part of the experience, a building of tension and concentration that prepares body and mind for what follows.
The sensation of the needle entering is acute and specific: a pressure, then a very brief sharpness, then the strange, intimate feeling of fluid moving under the skin.
This sensation, unlike any other in BDSM, is entirely internal. It cannot be seen (except for its effects over time), it cannot be fully described, it exists in a layer of the body that is usually never directly perceived.
